Decoder for written Klingon

   The Klingon-English Translator is your key to deciphering the text on the Warp Drive Enterprises' original starship drawings. 
   During our research and development of "The Bird" we discovered that the Klingon symbols used in the Television Series and Films were meaningless. No attempt had been made (and still hasn't) to provide a written form of the language so many of us love. A further exploration of fan created works revealed most attempts at a presentation of  a written Klingon text involved simply substituting Klingon-like symbols for the standard English alphabet. We choose a different, albeit more difficult approach.  Rather than each symbol corresponding to an English letter, we chose to have each  symbol correspond to a Klingon letter or number from the Klingon-English dictionary. First, we reviewed every episode and film that contained any visible Klingon Symbols. As we gathered potential glyphs we were forced to expand significantly upon the selection already shown in the films and the series in order to match the required number of letters and numbers used in the Klingon Dictionary.
   The end result is a very striking written representation of Klingon. It should present quite an interesting challenge to any skilled calligraphist. Currently we are in the process of converting the CAD font used to create the drawings into a True Type Windows font so that anyone can send emails or produce any type of document in this Klingon style.
